CEA Hires Oxman

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) today announced that Jason D. Oxman will become the organization's new vice president of communications beginning November 27th.

"I am thrilled to welcome Jason to CEA," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. "With his extensive public affairs and communications experience, Jason will be a valuable asset to CEA as we continue to grow the consumer technology industry. His strong technology background will help further CEA's industry initiatives and will contribute to the ongoing success of the International CES as its heads into its 40th anniversary year."

Oxman is currently the managing director of Law Media Group LLC, a public affairs firm that provides communications and strategic counsel to Fortune 100 companies. Oxman also has held senior policy and communications roles at COMPTEL/ALTS, Covad Communications Company and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

He is the author of the FCC Working Paper, "The FCC and the Unregulation of the Internet," which undertook an analysis of, and recommended a future course for, the FCC's regulatory treatment of the Internet. Oxman is a seasoned spokesperson and has frequently appeared on major news programs and is quoted often in major publications.

Before joining the FCC, he served as a law clerk to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He is a former journalist and has worked as a radio reporter and anchor. Oxman holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mass Communication and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Boston University, and a B.A. cum laude from Amherst College.
