RCA Embraces LCD HDTV

Posted Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Aggressively leveraging its liquid crystal display manufacturing capacity, TTE Corporation is introducing 18 RCA and RCA Scenium flat panel high definition television sets, its most extensive offering of LCD models. On display at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in booth 20507 in South Hall, the sets ranging in size from 15- to 57-inches and priced from $299 to $2,299, meet the needs of any discerning consumer looking for a full-featured flat panel TV.

The lineup includes the first RCA 1080p sets, each displaying more than 2 million pixels as well as new picture and panel technologies that deliver outstanding picture performance. Additionally, TTE is embracing larger screen sizes including 42-, 46-, 47 and 57-inch models.

“As LCD panel pricing declines and larger screen sizes become more affordable for consumers, we believe that LCD will be the long-term winner in flat panel,” said Greg Bosler, Executive Vice President, TTE, North America. “Our commitment to LCD is reflected in the breadth of the line we are introducing at CES and the dedication of R&D investment we are making for picture and panel performance. We expect our package of features, styling and affordability will be attractive to consumers as they shop for new high definition television sets,” Bosler added.

Picture Perfect Performance
With a focus on exceptional picture performance, the RCA Scenium models feature
Amplified Resolution Contrast & Color – ARC 2 advanced picture processing that provides edge enhancement plus adaptive spatial/temporal noise reduction, dynamic contrast enhancement, and multi-axis color space correction. The 22, 23 and 26D Series RCA models feature Enhanced Natural Vision - EN-V picture processing designed to provide enhanced resolution and contrast.
All models contain digital (ATSC) tuners with QAM tuning for over-the-air or unencrypted cable channel reception. Supplementing stereo speakers built into every set is a digital audio connection for use with your own surround system. Since VGA inputs are standard, every TV can do double duty as a computer monitor. To support the latest DVD and set-top boxes, each set is equipped with one or more HDMI inputs. The smallest sets ship this month, and the rest of the line will be available this spring. Additionally, all RCA LCD Models meet ENERGY STAR guidelines and are RoHS Compliant.
